Wargaming, the leading free-to-play MMO developer and publisher, announced the release of Update 8.8 for its MMO action game World of Tanks. European players will be able try the new version on September 11, with North American gamers getting their hands-on with 8.8 starting from September 12. In Korea and APAC, the Update will go live on September 16 and 18, respectively.
Along with a brand new battle arena, Tundra, the latest update enriches the game with a long-awaited branch of Soviet medium tanks ranging from Tier 6 to Tier 8, as well as Object 140 that will join the rankings as the nation’s other top medium tier choice.
Other significant changes include new updates to the German tech tree with the debut of the Tier 4 DW heavy chariot and Tier 6 VK3002 (M) medium tank, the transformation of VK3001H and VK3601H into heavy tanks, and addition of two new Chinese premiums-the Tier 8 T-34-3 medium tank and the 112 Tier 8 heavy tank.

Wargaming announced that the highly anticipated line of British steel machines will invade World of Tanks with the upcoming Update 8.1. Tankmen will get their chance to follow the history of the British tank building mastering 22 iconic steel fortresses from the Royal Tank Corps, starting from the tiny Vickers Medium Mk I tank, and ending up with the intimidating FV 214 Conqueror top-tier heavyweight.
Update 8.1 will also feature such British WWII armored stalwarts as the Centurion Mk. I-IV and the Centurion Mk. V-XI medium tanks, the heavily armored Matilda medium, and the legendary Churchill heavies to comprise the first three branches of the British national tech tree.
Update 8.1 will introduce medium and light tanks, known for their speed and heavy firepower, as well as slower and better armored heavy vehicles. The British tank fleet will eventually be reinforced by the lines of SPGs and tank destroyers in one of the later updates. Read more
Wargaming.net announced Update 7.4 for their distinguished free-to-play MMO World of Tanks introducing a wide range of new gameplay features.
The key innovation of the update is the introduction of two new game modes – Encounter Battle and Assault. The Encounter Battle mode invites two sides to fight for one base. The Assault sets the players in the roles of attackers and defenders where the former have superior combat capabilities.

Interactive Gaming Software has announced that the boxed retail version of highly popular free-to-play MMO game World of Tanks will be available on sale at all major retail chains and independents as of August 31, 2011.
The online version of World of Tanks, created and managed by Wargaming.net, has been played by more than 5 million people, also has more than 130,000 fans on Facebook. On a some days, more than 170,000 users have been playing the game. The retail version of World of Tanks is expected to be extremely popular with users.
The special boxed edition of the game will be available for a suggested retail price of only $19.99. In addition to including the entire game itself, purchasers will also receive a bonus of $30 of in-game items, including a premium account, game credits, gold, and an upgraded tank.
