DIABLO III to ship in early 2012

October 29, 2011 · Filed Under News, RPG · Comment

Despite a sterling record of always hitting its release targets, Blizzard Entertainment announced that the expected launch window for Diablo III, the next title in the company’s critically acclaimed series of action role-playing games, will be moving into early 2012.

“With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn’t put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we’re taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players. Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers.”

Blizzard will use the additional time to extend the Diablo III closed beta test, which began September 20, potentially adding more testers than initially projected. Players who have an active Battle.net account with any Blizzard game attached to it should visit Battle.net account management to opt in for a chance to participate in the beta test. Additional testing phases, as well as further details regarding the launch plans for the game, will be announced on the company’s Diablo III community website: www.Diablo3.com.

Avalon Heroes: huge update for the most wonderful time of the year

December 16, 2010 · Filed Under News, Online, RPG, Strategy · Comment

On December 22, publisher burda:ic will release the biggest patch in the history of the free-to-play online RTS RPG highlight.

Is it Christmas already? Not quite, but the free-to-play game Avalon Heroes will indeed be bringing the big day forward this year – by several days! Fans of the online RTS RPG will receive a superlative update on December 22: two quick-witted heroes, an improved guild system, the game modes “Elimination” and “Deathmatch”, plus many smaller updates, as well as plenty of yuletide spirit. Thus, Avalon Heroes is really cranking it up toward the end of the year, and is sure to have strategists and role-players alike glued to their screens.

Fighting for honor and glory here is just pure enjoyment! The new “reconnect system” being introduced on December 22 for the first time allows hero and game data to be saved, enabling players to reconnect to matches they started previously. The guild system will also be completely overhauled: The “guild war system” in battle mode will allow extra EXP to be collected; the “guild benefit system”, reminiscent of a popular MMO system, holds additional rewards in store for successful guilds. Moreover, there are two brand-new game modes to discover. In “Elimination”, the team still standing after 25 minutes of playing wins. In “Deathmatch”, on the other hand, the aim is to defeat more heroes in a given period of time than the opposing team.

However, no Avalon Heroes update would be complete without new heroes! There is Humbaba, an exemplary melee fighter capable of taking on several enemies at once. Or you might prefer Rukselam, whose HP and defense stats are excellent. Whichever of these two heroes a player might choose, collecting and mastering the skills of these unique heroes is about to become more motivational than ever, as the plaza market is resplendent in white, and new costumes will almost allow certain heroes to pass for Santa Claus on the battlefield.

Avalon Heroes is free to play! The games client is available for free download at www.avalonheroes.alaplaya.net/download.

The big box office hit once again issues your personal invitation to Antaloor – and a radical new player experience awaits you!

In the coming winter, the role-playing world of Antaloor will once again open its portals to PC, Mac and Next-Gen consoles. Following the fantastic worldwide sales success of the game’s famous predecessor, TopWare Interactive will once again open a radically new chapter in the fantasy world of Reality Pump.

“Two Worlds II” presents a totally new gamer experience, one in which 2 years of intensive development has enabled quantum leaps in all spheres: completely overhauled AI and balancing standards, experienced authors, the active combat system and the brand-new engine all combine to provide an unforgettable experience where excitement, sheer enjoyment and graphics rule. “Two Worlds II” simply sets new technical benchmarks in the RPG genre, thanks not least to its seemingly unlimited number of dynamic light sources, micro-detail Parallax Mapping, 24 Bit HDR Post Processing, Space Ambient Occlusion and Human Eye Accommodation.

The story of “Two Worlds II” is staged a couple of years after Part 1 – and it will lead you into hitherto unexplored parts of Eastern Antaloor where you’ll find many brand-new locations packed full of atmosphere – from dusty deserts to awe-inspiring temples.

Alexandra Constandache, the Executive Producer of TWII commented, “We intentionally opted for a completely independent game with radical new technology. This was the only way to ensure that we harness the enormous potential and experience gained from the making of the first “Two Worlds” project – and make full use of the further technical development of internal Reality Pump tools that has been on-going since the first “Two Worlds” was developed. This new release window gives us enough time to systematically implement both our own requirements and the feedback of the “Two World” fans, enabling us to create a breathtaking RPG experience.”

AND – we’ll shortly be bringing out the next version of your hotly-awaited ““Two Worlds” magazine, the “Antaloor Post” – and in it we’ll tell you all about the latest developments direct from the developers at Reality Pump!
