Gamers across India will battle it out in 25 gaming cafés to win the ultimate NGL championship

Grand Chase World Championship Tournament 2010 Announced

Competitors Vie for $20,000 Prizes Alongside Facebook Promotion, New Guild System Released

Ntreev USA, Inc., developer and publisher of several popular free-to-play games, announced details about the upcoming Grand Chase World Championship. The tournament, in which players from six countries will fight it out for $20,000 in total winnings, will take place in South Korea from Oct. 29 through Oct. 31.To help all Grand Chase players get in on the action, Ntreev is also hosting a Facebook event where players can create tournament brackets and predict which team will win. These two events are coming on the heels of the release of a full Grand Chase guild system.

“We are thrilled to provide our players with continual promotions for and additions to our games,” said Chris Lee, CEO of Ntreev USA. “Grand Chase’s World Tournament is a fantastic competition between the very best Grand Chase players from across the world, and we are looking forward to seeing how well our players predict the outcome on Facebook.”

The Grand Chase World Tournament will include 3 players each from Korea, Brazil, Taiwan, USA, Thailand and Indonesia for a total of 18 participants. These top Grand Chase brawlers will compete for cash prizes in 3v3 team matches as well as 1v1 solo matches – and every North American participant will walk away with a pair of GWC Astro headsets. The tournament is scheduled to run from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, and will take place in the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center in Daegu, South Korea.

“Not only do I get to represent North America in Grand Chase,” said JRTSeven, a North America Grand Chase team member headed to the World Championship Tournament. “but I get to travel to South Korea, meet the Ntreev and KOG staff, hang out with some bros, and overall have the time of my life. I feel truly honored.

The Facebook event connected to the tournament allows more fans to participate in the World Tournament from afar by selecting tournament brackets in a bid to guess the victorious players at the event. The most accurate predictions will win prizes, with the grand prize being a pair of custom-made GWC Astro headsets. Players must submit their brackets between Oct. 22 12:00 a.m. PST and Oct. 28 5:00 p.m. PST.

And just when it seems the excitement is waning, Ntreev will be bringing more community events to its players in celebration of the recent release of a guild system for Grand Chase. To create a guild, players can visit Guild Manager Bestair in the Park and redeem Game Points.

UK videogamers come joint second in World Cyber Games

Best ever result achieved this weekend in Los Angeles

Representatives from the UK’s videogaming scene have achieved their best-ever result during the World Cyber Games this weekend.

Held in Los Angeles for four days through until Sunday 3rd October 2010, the 10th World Cyber Games saw more than 450 players from 58 countries compete in 13 games for a share of a $250,000 prize pot.

Players from the UK triumphed in the Guitar Hero and Forza Motorsport competitions, which helped propel the team to second in the medal charts – behind South Korea and tied with Germany and Brazil.

“We’re enormously proud of our UK players,” says Craig Fletcher, MD of Multiplay.co.uk, which runs the UK arm of the World Cyber Games. “In a thrilling weekend of videogaming competitions we proved we’re close to the best in the world – and we hope the achievement this weekend will propel our players to go one better next time. We’d also like to express our thanks to the support we received from Samsung, without which the UK participation would not be possible.”

The World Cyber Games (WCG) is an international e-sports event backed by Samsung. The festival is influenced by the Olympic Games with an athletes village for competitors and since 2004 a different host city every year. The UK teams are managed by Multiplay.co.uk, the country’s leading gaming community.

Intel Extreme Masters stops at 2010 Taipei Game Show for Asian Championship

Intel Extreme Masters Asian Championship at Asia’s leading game trade show – $49,000 at stake for Asian Championship – $530,000 global prize purse.

World Cyber Games 2010: Los Angeles to host next year’s Grand Final

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the World’s Premiere Global eSports Tournament and Festival Comes Stateside for the Third Time

World Cyber Games (WCG), the organizer of the premier international video game competition and festival, announced Los Angeles, CA as the WCG 2010 Grand Final host city. 128 teams to compete in Counter-Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4
