Ice & Blood add-on for SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel

August 12, 2009 · Filed Under Add on, News · Comment

Deep Silver and Ascaron’s Studio II officially announced an add-on for “SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel” for PC: “Ice & Blood” will be distributed by Koch Media world-wide – except for the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Russia – and published under the Deep Silver label, with Ascaron acting as a co-publishing partner.

With “Ice & Blood”, SACRED and action RPG fans can look forward to an elaborate new development with numerous new features, promising many additional hours of exciting gaming fun, and adding to the value and replayability of the original game. The expansion introduces the Dragon mage, an additional main character, as well as interesting quests and stories that whisk the player away to new adventures in Ancaria. Moreover, the add-on contains two new, unique locations and previously unknown enemies, who will challenge action RPG gamers with unique tactics of their own. Add to that new in-game items for each main character of “SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel”, and plenty more useful, innovative features. “Ice & Blood” requires an installation of the original game.

“We are very pleased that, together with Ascaron, we now get to publish the expansion of the extremely successful ‘SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel’ for PC as well. We know how fervently the fan community is yearning for new adventures, and we are confident that we will be able to release ‘Ice & Blood’ within a matter of months,” says Georg Larch, International Marketing Director Koch Media.

“As a leading publisher and distributor, Deep Silver has shown what is possible in a good partnership, and thus made a major contribution to the success of Sacred 2 on all platforms. Therefore, it makes sense to continue the successful cooperation, and market the Sacred 2 add-on ‘Ice & Blood’ together with Koch Media,” says Ascaron CEO Heiko tom Felde.

The “SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel” add-on “Ice & Blood” for PC is due for release in the second half of 2009. Besides the retail version, the add-on will also be available for download.

Hawker Heroes (add–on for Microsoft FS 2004 FSX)

March 22, 2009 · Filed Under Add on, News, Sim, Simulator · Comment

Assembled in one package for the first time, Hawker Heroes offers you the chance to fly four of the most iconic aircraft ever to take to the skies.

First flown in 1931, the Hawker Fury set the template for all fighter aircraft that would follow. The first fighter aircraft to exceed 200 MPH in level flight, the Fury held the world in awe with its incredible handling. With a climb rate in excess of 2400ft per minute and manoeuvrability that was the scourge of enemy aircraft, the Hawker Fury defined a standard in military aviation.

The Hawker Hurricane was the hero of the Battle of Britain, changing the course of World War 2 by being responsible for more enemy kills than any other aircraft. Beloved by her pilots and feared by her adversaries, to this day many believe that the Hurricane is the finest fighter aircraft ever built. With our breathtakingly realistic simulation, now is your chance to confirm that assessment.

Whilst the Hurricane was rolling off the production line, Sir Sydney Camm and the Hawker Company were already planning the replacement aircraft, the Hawker Typhoon. The Typhoon quickly became one of the most formidable ground attack aircraft of the war years. By the end of World War 2, the RAF were operating 18 Typhoon squadrons equipped with deadly rockets. Pressed into service on D-Day to turn back the tide of armour on the Normandy beaches, the Typhoon was instrumental in the liberation of Europe

The Hawker Tempest entered service in 1944. Developed by Hawker to have incredible performance characteristics, the Tempest had outstanding acceleration with excellent climb and dive performance. Its introduction was fortuitous, being one of the few aircraft able to intercept and shoot down the V1 flying bomb. Sortie after sortie was flown to keep the rocket powered marauder at bay.

Each aircraft has been painstakingly recreated to offer the ultimate in simulation. Accompanied by adrenalin charged missions for Flight Simulator X, would-be fighter aces can relive the Hawker experience where the best pilots truly became heroes!

Colony add-on for Bounty Bay Online has been launched

January 16, 2009 · Filed Under Add on, News, Online · Comment

Frogster has launched the Colony Add-on as the second large expansion to Bounty Bay Online.

With the free add-on, players can now establish colonies in 33 coastal regions of the historical explorer world. After completing a special quest series and with the necessary resources, they are able to capture the area and build up their own town and port. Colony founders can then determine the trade policy and development of their new realm. This way, ambitious guilds can acquire their own retreat and a lucrative trading base. In the German version launched last week, all colonies have been taken over within a few days. Now it’s up to the players to create their first colonies.

Besides the colony features, the Colony Add-on integrates new quests into Bounty Bay Online, which are partly a continuation of quest series from the first expansion Storm Island. In addition to some new land bosses with improved tactics, new powerful pirate ships are now terrorizing the seven seas. Conquerors of these corsairs can expect huge amounts of gold, but they are protected by new dinghies. The small boats are only lightly armored, but dispose of considerable firepower. However, the developers have created a worldwide network of informants, so that news about the sighting of a pirate boat and his whereabouts spread like wildfire within the community. Another new feature of the Colony Add-on concerns ship convoys. As a last resort before sinking, the leading ship of a convoy can now launch small speedboats, trying to save its treasures before the impending demise.

Moreover, with the Colony Add-on players receive the possibility to salvage treasures from the sea. Previously, these could only be found on land. A practical innovation has also been implemented to the complex trading system of the sailor MMORPG. Players can now systematically search all sales stalls of an area for specific items and compare goods and prices to find the best offer.

The free colony add-on is available for both the subscription and free-2-play server and has a size of roughly 500 MB. It is being installed automatically with the next start of Bounty Bay Online. Players can use their existing accounts and characters without any restrictions. A new trailer has been published last week that is available here:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44123.html.

Bounty Bay Online is available for free. Ordinary seamen can register for an account and download the game on www.bountybayonline.com.

Bounty Bay Online
With Bounty Bay Online players enter the Age of Discoveries from the 15th to the 17th century. MMO fans are able to choose an online career as a merchant, sailor, fisherman, pirate or adventurer and make their fortune at land and on the seven seas. Alone or with a guild of players, many adventures and gripping quests lie on their way. Thousands of ancient discoveries on all continents like the pyramids of Gizah or the Chinese Wall are waiting to be explored. Bounty Bay Online features a unique trade system based on supply and demand. After exciting PvP combat at land and on the seas, strong guilds can take control of colonies and cities and decide upon their destiny. In April 2008 Frogster has started a free-to-play server with an integrated item shop as an alternative to the subscription model, so that new sailors can now roam the Seven Seas without any fixed costs. More information is available on www.bountybayonline.com.
