Changchun 2

February 26, 2010 · Filed Under Beta, MMO, News, Online · Comment

WeMade unveiled three new Massively Multiplayer Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) at Gstar 2009: NED, Changchun, Zwei Online. Amongst three highly-anticipated games, Changchun kicks off a Closed Beta test (CBT) first.

Changchun2 is a hybrid between targeting and non-targeting system and maximized game control in MMORPG. Using non-targeting system, a player can attack multiple enemies at the same time if they are within attackable area. A majority of monsters move together in the game to make one vs. many combat possible.

Changchun 2 demands a high level of game control from users because a user can attack others yet effectively defend at the same time if s/he controls a character in a right way. This will satisfy high level users in the targeting system. Because of that, fighting multiple monsters in Changchun 2 provides the best of entertainment and thrill in a unique way.

In Changchun 2, character classes including Magician, Swordman, Blademan all have unique powers. PvP contents and Hero Spawn will be added to the game later on.

Exciting Update Includes an Increased Level Cap, Dangerous Dungeons, and Plenty of New Adventures for Players of Silkroad Online

Joymax announced Legend V: Heroes of Alexandria, an update for historical fantasy MMORPG Silkroad Online. The Legend V expansion includes a new level cap of 110, never-before-seen weapons and armor, a sinister tomb, and a dangerous temple, providing plenty of exciting new gameplay for players hoping to be the next hero in Silkroad Online.

The land of Egypt in Legend V: Heroes of Alexandria is a land of golden cities, dangerous foes, and rich treasures. Characters must be at least level 100 to visit the new region, which includes the imposing city of Alexandria, the Desert of Storms and Cloud, the Valley of Kings, and two massive dungeons known as the Tomb of the Pharaoh and the Temple.

Players can choose from three difficulty levels before entering the Tomb of the Pharaoh with their party, and may visit up to twice a day to hunt for the powerful eleventh-grade weapons and armor that reside within its walls. The Temple, meanwhile, is an instanced dungeon for characters level 105 and up where PvP combat is always permitted. Be prepared to fight off both vicious monsters and competing players if you decide to venture into its depths.

Legend V also offers players a brand-new game system, Set Items. Gold and Silver Coins earned in Alexandria’s dungeons can be traded to merchants for unique Set Items that share a seal and provide big bonuses when worn together as a full outfit. Between these and new eleventh-grade weapons like the Reaper Ghost Sword and the Angel Breaker, every would-be hero should be well prepared for the trials and adventures that await them in Legend V: Heroes of Alexandria!

Major contents update on March 2nd and various events to attract users

MMO sports game FreeStyle Street Basketball, serviced at global game portal GameKiss, will launch a big-scale update and special events to celebrate the coming spring of 2010. The fourth major update since the game’s commercialization in May 2009 will faithfully reflect users’ feedback and provide many benefits to participants.

This big-scale update which will be carried out for three times from March 2nd includes nearly 100 items that will satisfy users’ needs. A new decorative item, 16-Level special character slot and a face-customizing item will allow users to express themselves better in more diverse ways. Also, in order to live up to the diverse, fast-changing fashion trend, items that were permanently sold will now be sold during a set period. The price of the items will go down instead, reducing users’ financial burden. Among newly added FreeStyle Skills is the “Power Rebound” which has been requested mostly by centers and big guys. The items are expected to become very popular after its release.

Furthermore, reflecting users’ needs for new courts, FreeStyle will add five brand-new courts for the first time since the game’s launch. Winter versions of two popular courts, the Big Flow and the Factory Yard, were added, and The Palace whose background is an antique European palace will add new energy and style to the game.

Many bugs will be also corrected in this update. Some ranking bugs, single player errors and other minor item bugs will be corrected, improving the game environment to another level.

FreeStyle’s GM Roxy said this update intends to reflect every small opinion of users which have been put on hold due to important system patches. “I hope users find small things they needed through this update,” said Roxy of this update.

The “Resurrection of Forgotten FreeStylers” which will start the Big Spring Festival on March 2nd is prepared for newly beginning users who haven’t accessed FreeStyle for more than a month. Together with it, the following “Throw in Extra 2” event will flood users with an abundance of game money, points and items.

March will be a month of a very generous festival.

More details about the new event can be found at the official website of FreeStyle Street Basketball:

2010 Game Developers Conference Europe returns to Cologne, Germany August 16-18

Europe’s Premier Game Developer Conference to Offer Expanded Exposition, Press Opportunities and Academic Exchange Program

The Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC Europe) has announced that it will return to Cologne, Germany in 2010 alongside gamescom, combining to present the leading European game industry event for developers, consumers, publishers, and trade professionals.

In 2009, GDC Europe hosted over 130 international speakers, 40 exhibitors and sponsors from 35 countries, 240 media representatives and around 1,500 participants – advancing to become the leading conference for computer and video game developers in Europe. “Of course, we intend to claim this leading role again this year,” said Frank Sliwka, Vice President European Business Development and Event Director GDC Europe. “GDC Europe plans to offer attendees and participants outstanding new opportunities to learn and network. This includes three major updates that will be added to the regular program featuring keynotes, lectures, roundtables & workshops and exhibition area.”

The show producers have expanded GDC Europe’s exhibition opportunities to include both last year’s exhibit areas and a major new space within the gamescom Business Area, which will grant GDC Europe exhibitors additional meeting room and exhibition space during the overlapping gamescom event. This new area – named the GDC Europe Business Lounge at gamescom — will also host a VIP lounge area for GDC Europe Plus members to convene and conduct business.

With German and European companies moving strongly to dominate the online and browser game space, GDC Europe plans to focus the second day of the event, August 17 to covering browser-based, social network and online games, and key emerging markets. Additionally, GDC Europe plans to provide a major platform for “online games companies” to host press conferences at GDC Europe on this day. “Given the international network of the Game Developers Conferences and the UBM TechWeb Game Network, a resounding response is guaranteed for these new conference offerings,” explains Frank Sliwka.

In related news, in March 2010, the UBM TechWeb Game Network will launch a new project called the “Academic Exchange Program,” in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalian state chancellery. It’s intended to promote the academic exchange between universities with game degree programs from North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) and America. As part of this event, university professors from NRW and their American colleagues will participate at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and exchange information on current teaching programs and best practices. “The games industry will only thrive with qualified labor. Thus, an international program to exchange current training methods on an academic level is very desirable, since the shared knowledge on technical and design aspects of today’s video games are of crucial importance for today’s industry,” Frank Sliwka explains regarding the philosophy of the project.

The elements controlling each car’s distinct running characteristics include; weight, wheel size, steering angle, horsepower, tires friction, and engine characteristic curves. These new technologies also allow parts of the car’s bodies to be replaced with more aerodynamic pieces to improve the car’s ability to draft another.

‘Reclaim Your Game’ Group Again Awards Gold Seal of Approval to ByteShield DRM
ByteShield announced that ByteShield version 2.2 has received DRM watchdog Reclaim Your Game’s Gold Seal of Approval “by passing every area and receiving an overall 99%”.

Reclaim Your Game (RYG) tested the leading DRM provider at the same time as re-testing ByteShield (ByteShield was awarded RYG’s Gold Seal for the first time in May, 2009). The comparative results are shown in the attached table. The RYG test results reproduced in the attached table are also available at: and

PRISM (Players Resisting Invasive Security Measures) and RYG (Reclaim Your Game) DRM testing methodology continues to evolve and ByteShield has been re-tested against their latest DRM Testing Regimen. Quoting the RYG site, “RYG can assertively provide qualitative results for all members of the public with the inclusion of RYG’s very own Rating Method, which also determines whether a certain DRM can gain RYG’s Gold Seal of Approval … as well as provide prospective DRM vendors a chance to see whether their products are End-User Friendly.”

“Both the new test and the results are industry firsts and I invite everyone to review these results that independently contrast ByteShield and other DRM vendors,” said Jan Samzelius, ByteShield CEO. “Users’ frustration with today’s user-unfriendly anti-piracy systems (software copy protection or DRM) and the developers’ and publishers’ frustration with the unintended negative impact on end users have opened the market for new innovations. ByteShield, developed by gamers for gamers, has turned these issues 180 degrees and made them competitive advantages through a novel approach and design that makes DRM work for all involved (that is, except the crackers). For example, ByteShield insists on full disclosure/transparency to users while offering many key user friendliness features, including unlimited installs, offline use, no hidden files, one-time activation, and full and clean uninstall. With ByteShield, users have an un-intrusive and convenient experience and publishers have an easy to implement and flexible protection solution which also provides sales and usage data. Crackers have a significantly greater work effort.”

ByteShield has now protected over 100 games proving market acceptance and is a low cost choice for Game Developers, Publishers and Digital Distributors. Thus, no need to use solutions that infuriate gamers. Contact ByteShield at to start a free trial on either a free game or on your game to test ByteShield’s user friendliness for yourself.

ByteShield’s unique approach to DRM and copy protection provides users with a transparent, safe and un-intrusive solution while giving PC game and PC applications developers, publishers and distributors flexible licensing management with a high level of protection. ByteShield’s proven technology has received customer and industry accolades from organizations such as PRISM/RYG, a gamers group for sensible DRM solutions, who has tested and endorsed ByteShield’s solution. ByteShield has four patents pending in DRM and copy protection and won the 2009 ‘Most Innovative Software for the Software Industry’ award by SoftwareCEO/CompTIA. ByteShield, Inc. is a privately held California corporation, established in 2004, and headquartered in San Francisco. To find out more, visit
