Christian Video Game Tribulation Knights to be released Q2 2010

December 30, 2009 · Filed Under Action, News · Comment

The open world game can be played in both the first and third person point of view. The player must use non-lethal weapons in the course of completing missions. This makes the game much harder than typical action games.

Tribulation Knights™ is a video game for the PC, the first installment is to be released in Q2 of 2010.

It was written, produced, and developed by John Nelson. It is an entirely indie effort to develop a game for gamers who may or may not be religious. The story line is based on Biblical interpretations of the book of Revelations.

What Technology is being used?
The game series is being developed using the Torque Game Engines from Garage Games.
The first installment is using TGEA, and the following installments are using the new T3D engine.
The Bullet Physics engine is being used, along with the FMOD Ex sound system which is a revolutionary audio engine.

The open world game can be played in both the first and third person point of view. The player must use non-lethal weapons in the course of completing missions. This makes the game much harder than typical action games. The player is tasked with obtaining food, medical supplies, salvageable materials, and enemy intelligence. In addition there are missions to rescue rebel citizens from thugs, and Enforcers. Maintaining a level of faith is necessary since the events of these apocalyptic times can be dishearting. This requires the player to find a house of worship to bring the faith levels up after spending time engaging the enemy.

What is the story plot of the game?
The plot of the game is that in the not too distant future a variety of disasters hit at the same time throwing the planet into turmoil. Millions of people are dead in only a short time.
A deadly virus kills quickly as the economies of all countries fail in days, famine hits leaving everyone starving in weeks.
Now chaos rules as people fight to live and survive.

A single politician and his allies gain control of the world, and recruit everyone who will join them to restore order. He promises food and shelter, and protection, so many abandon their allegiance to their countries and join. They will be fed, and taken care of, but they will be required to be chipped.
This is the integration of a bio adhering technology that permanently modifies a person.
At that point they are forever tracked, monitored, and controlled.
Their Brain functions actually change along with their DNA, and it is irreversible.
These converts are no longer the people they once were.
The process will only work on willing subjects.

Those people who refuse to become a member of this new society fighting to control everything, are labeled rebels. The rebel citizens are not allowed to buy, or sell food, own a home, or receive the protection of the new police force, only known as Enforcers.
A secret group of extraordinary people who recruit the best agents send them out to help people. They are known as Knights.
These Knights must gather intelligence, retrieve supplies, and protect the innocent.
The code of the Knights forbids them from killing, but they do have a variety of technological devices to defend themselves with.
In the game they interview refugees who all have different opinions about what is happening to the world. Some believe it was the rapture that took so many people away, others believe it was a coordinated attack by a organization with the goal of world domination.
The knights move in the shadows of alley ways in the cities, they are in the country side protecting farms from plunder, and they are taking refugees to safe zones where they can be free people for as long as they can.

The life of a Knight is not long, but it will be a glorious life spent in the service of God, country, and in service to those around them.

Release Date: A Q2 2010 release date has been announced. The exact day will be posted in the near future.

Official Launch of Much Upgraded Version on December 28th

Online PC Game Portal GameKiss announced the official launch of Valkyrie Sky at 00:00 (PST) on December 28th. Valkyrie Sky, based on the Norse mythology, is a vertical-scroll shoot’em-up game combining community elements of an MMORPG and the instant action of a shooting game.

The biggest change in this newly launched version is its improved graphics and the camera angle control. Furthermore the users’ line of sight is widened and character skills have become even more dazzling. The character visuals are a key enhancement and the rotating 3D camera is possible thanks to the graphic engine renewal work.

The PvP system, which previously received the most criticism, was also significantly upgraded. Users have pointed out unwanted match-ups when the PvP automatically started as soon as the PvP mode was chosen. The current improved system changed to the duel mode system which is expected to provide users more fun.

Classes became more diverse thanks to the addition of the post-changing system. When users reach Level 15, they can switch their post after having mastered the skills of their current class and finished the quests. Nearly 20 improved and new game systems were added – for instance the dungeon system was newly added and the life system got upgraded.

“In the last three weeks of the closed beta service between October 28 and November 10th, we checked every single comment and survey response. We tried to reflect them on the open beta test as much as possible,” said RomaN, GM of Valkyrie Sky, “After the CBT, the developer’s note was posted everyday, and we received plenty of great and helpful feedback which was applied to the game with excitement.

“Many users have waited for the official launch date. We are very pleased to announce good news to our users before the end of 2009. To celebrate the launch, we are planning various in-game events. We look forward to many users participating”, RomaN added.

Registration, download and playing of Valkyrie Sky are provided worldwide, and can be enjoyed free of charge.

Dungeon Fighter Online Dawn of Retribution update

December 18, 2009 · Filed Under MMO, News, Online · Comment

Dungeon Fighter Online offers up big changes—that promise even bigger victories for all our Dungeon Fighters—with its Dawn of Retribution update.

This new update to the game’s open beta features three major game play changes, as well as Christmas events to celebrate the holiday season.

Players may now enjoy faster leveling, easier dungeons and an improved, revamped tutorial as part of this update. A newly implemented experience curve allows players to make more rapid progress through the game, opening up more quests, more dungeons and more skills even sooner than before. The difficulty level has been brought down for some of the creatures in the lower leveled dungeons so as to aid beginning Dungeon Fighters. An added benefit to players just starting out in the Land of Arad are enhanced lessons from Seria and Linus, two important NPCs (non-playing characters) who all Dungeon Fighters meet at the beginning of their adventures in the game.

On top of these improvements, players can take part in the holiday spirit with the Holly Jolly DFO Christmas Celebration. From Dec. 16 to January 5, players will be singing, “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.” Every day for one randomly selected hour, a nice, crisp layer of soft powder will fall on the land. When it does, players will receive a 20 percent EXP bonus when clearing dungeons. Seria has decorated her sanctuary for Christmas, spreading holiday cheer to the dungeon fighters that visit her. After visiting Seria, players venture into the dungeons hunting for the Christmas goblins who robbed the respected citizens of Arad of their Christmas knickknacks. One particular goblin, Snowblin, also drops the special Snowball item. This throwing item delivers water damage and could freeze an opponent…or fellow partymates, if it isn’t used with precision.

Spec Ops: The Line

December 14, 2009 · Filed Under News, Shooter · Comment

Narrative-driven military shooter features intense combat and gut-wrenching decisions set against the backdrop of the sandstorm-ravaged city of Dubai

2K Games announced that Spec Ops®: The Line™ is currently in development at YAGER for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. Spec Ops: The Line is a provocative and gripping third-person modern military shooter that challenges players’ morality by putting them in the middle of unspeakable situations where unimaginable choices affecting human life must be made.

“At the heart of the 2K DNA is the creation of intellectual properties that provide consumers with compelling narrative, heart-pounding action, and worlds that come to life around them,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Spec Ops: The Line is the epitome of a 2K Games title and incorporates all of our gameplay values: immersive experiences that draw you in, unique and innovative features that make you rethink the way you play them, and an amazingly high quality bar that is synonymous with the 2K name. By meeting these core values, I’m confident that Spec Ops: The Line will be a great experience that people will enjoy playing for years to come.”

Spec Ops: The Line unfolds within the destroyed opulence of Dubai. Once the playground for the world’s wealthiest elite, Dubai has fallen victim to a series of cataclysmic sandstorms. The city’s ultramodern architecture lies half-buried under millions of tons of sand. The very sand that blankets the city plays a marquee role in altering combat situations and serves as a powerful but unpredictable force that will both help and hinder players throughout the course of the game.

While most people have fled the now-barren wasteland before the sandstorms swept through, U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad and his loyal squad remained behind to protect those incapable of escape. Unable to reach anyone in Dubai after the storm hit, the U.S. Army feared Konrad and his team dead until they picked up a weak distress signal and launched a rescue operation. As U.S. Army Captain Martin Walker, you and your elite Delta Force team are sent to infiltrate the treacherous region to bring Konrad home. Players will experience “The Line”, that razor’s edge known only to men who deal in war. It is the line they cross when death and duty become one and the same. It is the end – of self and sanity – when their duty is done and only they remain.

“The production of Spec Ops: The Line has been a tremendous experience for YAGER,” said Timo Ullman, managing director at YAGER. “Our close collaboration with 2K Games over the course of this production has allowed us to achieve our goal of giving players a unique and exciting gaming experience in Spec Ops: The Line. YAGER’s goal is to always push the boundaries of what is possible and exceed players’ expectations in every production.”

Spec Ops: The Line underscores 2K’s commitment to deliver original and innovative single and multiplayer experiences to current generation consoles and PCs. Spec Ops: The Line will take that commitment to the next level by providing players with a new and exciting multiplayer experience that offers a unique perspective on the single-player storyline.

Spec Ops: The Line is not yet rated by the ESRB. The title is planned for release during Take-Two’s 2011 fiscal year, which begins on November 1, 2010. For more information, please visit
