EUROPA UNIVERSALIS COLLECTION TO BE RELEASED IN MARCH 2009

The Europa Universalis Collection is the ultimate battle strategy compilation for PC due for release in March 2009 by Ascaron Entertainment. The collection contains all three releases in the Europa series, offering a comprehensive historical and strategic experience to all war gaming enthusiasts.

Players take control of a nation, such as England or France, between 1492 and 1792, engaging in land and naval battles against a backdrop of highly detailed cities and continents. Crucial military decisions, including negotiating treaties and developing infrastructure, are vital in missions to colonise the New World or conquer Asia. A new online multiplayer mode enables players to work together to control a single state or initiate battle. Players can also rewrite history and command countries with little military tradition, such as Scotland and Greece.

Europa Universalis

Depicting the 300 years from Columbus through to Napoleon, players command one of seven European nations such as Italy or Spain through a tumultuous period in history. Key decisions have to be made surrounding the country’s stance on issues including diplomacy, religion and military development, during an era that includes the Hundred Years War and defeat of the Spanish Armada.

Europa Universalis II
Players guide a country to prosperity and victory through historical scenarios including The American Revolution and The Napoleonic Wars. However, success may be decided by what is taking place elsewhere. Anywhere from 50 to 100 countries can engage in trade, warfare and diplomacy at the same time, making it essential to follow developments on the game’s extensive map.

Europa Universalis III
A detailed, large scale 3D map offers a complete world view of 2000 different provinces allowing players to search for expansion opportunities and identify potential threats of invasion. Worldwide economic and political conditions are realistically represented, with historical figures such as Sir Isaac Newton and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart acting as wartime advisors.

The Europa Universalis Collection will be released in March 2009 by Ascaron Entertainment.
