Exiting Earth the Old Fashioned Way – By Vaccination and Spacecraft

Software publisher Strategy First Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Silverstar Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSTR), is leading the way to space with Exodus from the Earth. The upcoming shooter takes players out of this world and back again on a quest to reveal the secrets of a dangerously powerful corporation and fight for dear life. Developed by Parallax Arts Studio and published by Strategy First, Exodus from the Earth will be available for PC in fall 2008.

Mankind assumed it would take five billion years until the earth began to die. In reality, it is 2016, and the planet earth is living its last twenty years. The Sun has begun to grow, burning everything around it and turning Earth into a lifeless nightmare. Mankind must adapt to extraterrestrial conditions or find an Earth-like planet where humans can live.

After learning the dreadful news, the powerful A.X. Corporation produced a vaccine which allows humans to survive in any environment, and now plans to inject everyone on Earth. The alleged discovery of a “Second Earth” threatens the financial future of A.X., and C.I.A. officials become suspicious of the corporation, their motives, and the mysterious vaccine. Secret Agent Francis Rixon is commissioned to infiltrate the A.X. headquarters and discover the truth.

“Exodus from the Earth is a next generation title that will create an exhilarating alternative in the first person shooter genre,” said Emanuel Wall, Business Development Manager, Strategy First. “We are extremely excited to bring this title to gamers world wide.”

Exodus from Earth is an action-packed shooter based on the advanced Riposte game engine, provided by Tools Media Corporation. Riposte uses modern processors and video accelerators to produce realistic and enriched game environments.

Players will be kept guessing until the final step with an intriguing and unpredictable storyline, battles and exploration through high-poly, epic locations on two planets. The powerful arsenal offers multiple, unique attacks for each weapon to be put to full use in the dynamic gun-toting gameplay that transports players from the road to the sky.

New revolutionary RTS set to be in stores, starting Q2 2008

• Publisher: Playlogic International
• Developer: Black Sea Studios

oday, Playlogic Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq OTC: PLGC.OB), an independent worldwide publisher of entertainment software, announced that it has acquired the right to publish the Real Time Strategy game WorldShift for PC from the German Publisher Black Inc – a label of RTL Games. Playlogic will release WorldShift starting Q2 2008.

About WorldShift:

In the 21st century, earth has been hit by a mysterious huge dark object called ‘Shard Zero’. It released a plague that disrupted the very nature of space and life. WorldShift is set thousands of years later, when our civilization is no more than a fading myth. The remnants of Human civilisation developed a new culture and now live in 5 mega-cities, struggling every day for the precious resources they need to survive. The rest of Earth is populated by the Tribes, successors of early humans that were affected by the Plague.

WorldShift is a next-gen cyber-fantasy RTS game designed to be immersive and intuitive. It offers fierce encounters all around the Earth and a fascinating story uncovering ancient secrets about the true nature of the Shard and the Plague. But also, WorldShift introduces many features new to the genre, like modifiable factions, unique cooperative multiplayer gameplay, and more.

In WorldShift, there are no technology trees featuring hundreds of upgrades; instead, WorldShift allows the players to discover and acquire a vast number of items and powerful relics that they can use to freely change their gameplay and preferred tactics and to surprise their foes. The players will gather items as they fight their opponents and as rewards for completing missions. But to discover the most powerful relics, they must form teams with their most trusted friends and embark on deadly missions where it is difficult to survive and where the real challenges await.

• Immersive single player campaign
• Fast and furious multiplayer modes
• Thousands of items and powerful relics to collect
• Use items and relics to build your own tactics
• The best cooperative, player-vs-environment gameplay ever made in RTS game
• Random maps for infinite exploration
• Unique blend of post apocalyptic setting, hi-tech and primitive
• Epic, dangerous missions with great rewards
• 3 playable races

Pierre Thiercelin, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of Playlogic: “We are very pleased with this deal as WorldShift is a fantastic game that incorporates new features and gameplay elements that have not been seen before in an RTS. We have much confidence in this title and are proud to have it in our portfolio.”

Holger Strecker, Managing Director RTL Games: “WorldShift is this year’s first and most important product for our Black Inc label, and it has been designed to appeal to an International market. With Playlogic, we are confident to have found a partner that shares our vision, and who will tap into their sales and marketing expertise to make WorldShift an International success. ”

Stalin vs Martians

April 29, 2008 · Filed Under News, Strategy · Comment

Black Wing Foundation, Dreamlore and N-Game announce a joint project Stalin vs. Martians, probably the most bizzare gaming experience of year 2008.

The title of the game alone is a piece of art, and the playability doesn’t even matter here. The very concept is just enough. It makes your brain explode. Surprisingly though, we have more than that to offer.

Stalin vs. Martians is also a good real-time strategy. Fast, simple, intuitive and incredibly fun. Trashy and absolutely over-the-top, arthouse kitsch production in its finest. With a good technical basis and some healthy gameplay innovations. A natural choice for anyone bored of hundreds and hundreds of identical “World War II strategies”. And a perfect choice for anyone who just hates the strategy genre.

Check the details at the game’s official website http://www.dreamloregames.com/stalin/

The game is story-driven and here’s the plot in a nutshell:
Year 1942. Summer. The martians suddenly drop off somewhere in Siberia and attack the glorious people of Holy Mother Russia. The situation is a total mess, so comrade Stalin takes the anti-ET military operation under his personal control. The operation is top secret and practically nobody knows about the fact of extraterrestial intervention. You take control of the Red Army troops and start kicking the alien butts under the wise Stalin’s guidance.

The release of Stalin vs. Martians is expected by the end of this year.

NCsoft Announces New Lineage II Expansion

April 26, 2008 · Filed Under MMO, News, Online · Comment

New content for epic game launches with the incentive-packed Limited Collector’s Edition

NCsoft® Europe (http://eu.plaync.com/eu/) today announced the release of Hellbound™, the newest addition to the Lineage® II (http://www.discoverlineage2.com) franchise, in conjunction with its Limited Collector’s Edition retail package. Continuing the storyline and content in December’s popular expansion Kamael, Hellbound increases the game’s level capacity to 85, and adds significant quests and skills. Players finally get the chance to best the diabolical boss Beleth, fighting their way through multiple towers in the Steel Citadel. Enhancements to the pet system enable players to grow their wolf pet into a mount called a Fenrir. Additionally, this update adds more transformation options, where players earn the ability to temporarily transform into a powerful alter-ego with special skills that will aid them in their ventures into Hellbound.

The Lineage II Limited Collector’s Edition provides players with a whole host of exclusive extras. Featuring the most up to date game client, the Limited Edition includes three exclusive in-game items, discount tokens for server features, a stunning 148 page ‘The Art of Lineage II’ art book, the official soundtrack CD, two exclusive A2 posters and the official Lineage II world map. To complete the pack, each set also includes a highly detailed poly-resin Kamael character figurine.

Lineage II is known as the gaming market’s premier player-versus-player (PvP) online role-playing game, with a customer reach of more than 19 million players worldwide.

“The content in our Hellbound expansion really rounds out what we started in Kamael,” said Tim Tan, NCsoft’s North American producer of Lineage II. “The expansion was very popular with our players and we’re happy to follow up with more content, so soon after its launch. Players can really sink their teeth into the Hellbound area of the game, and the raised level cap gives them a fighting chance against Beleth!”

The Lineage II Limited Collector’s Edition will be available from major retailers at a recommended retail price of £54.99 / €79.99. The standard edition box of Lineage II is available at a recommended retail price of £14.99 / €19.99 and at the PlayNC® store (http://eu.plaync.com/eu/store/). The Most Savage, Sexy and Brutal MMO Ever Created Hits The Store Shelves Soon

After four years of development co-publishers Funcom and Eidos are proud to announce that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has gone gold. One of the most highly anticipated MMO games in history is about to hit the store shelves, and the gates to the world of the mighty barbarian will soon be open to the millions of gamers around the world.

“Even though it feels like this great adventure is coming to an end, it’s really not at all. The launch is just the beginning” says Game Director/Producer Gaute Godager. “I believe we have created a game that will stand the test of time by its own accord, but we are already busy planning future features and expansions. We want to continue expanding Conan’s world for many years to come, and we have great ideas on what to do!”

After years of development and testing Age of Conan is now finally ready for prime time! To prepare for launch, tens of thousands of players have tested the Beta, enabling Funcom to polish the game prior to going live. While the game gets closer to release the anticipation for the title is also building steadily. Just last week 475.000 unique visitors went to the official Age of Conan websites, and the pre-order numbers in some important retail chains track as among the highest for any MMO launched.

“Age of Conan has been in development for a long time, as with all MMOs, but we have spent that time well and ended up with a game we are incredibly proud of,” says Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. “Creating a game of such epic proportions is an ambitious and challenging task, but we believe we have truly succeeded in realizing the vision of the game. We simply can’t wait to let the players in and let them experience the amazing adventures we have created.

Age of Conan is consistently mentioned as one of the most anticipated PC games in development. At launch the game will have received more than thirty covers on high-profile gaming magazines across the globe and more than fifteen major awards, including numerous “Best MMO of E3” awards and the official “Best Online Game” award at the Games Convention 2007. Age of Conan is a key title in Microsoft’s Games for Windows line-up, and a showcase title for nVidia. Age of Conan launches 20th of May in North America / Oceania and 23rd of May in Europe
