As the weeks pass one by one, we can witness one game launch after another – huge franchises launch huge new titles with thousands, or even tens of thousands of units sold all over the world.
These games have tens of thousands of fans, keeping them entertained for hours, or even weeks (or years even, but for that the games must be really exceptional).
There is one category of games that we don’t talk about – a gaming industry that’s one of the most profitable ones in the world, with hundreds of titles and tens of thousands of users from all over the world: real money online gaming. In those countries where it’s not explicitly prohibited, real money online gaming is a very popular pastime – and source of profit for some.
The players are not how you might imagine them – most of them are lawyers, housewives, shop assistants or even school teachers, with one thing in common: their passion for gaming. Some prefer card games or dice, others find entertainment in playing with other games of chance, or even casual games or lotteries.
They choose their place of play based on various features – some choose them by the no deposit bonus offers they are rewarded with, others prefer to make their choice based on the games they can play. Now that I think of it, most people looking for profit choose by the no deposit bonus, while the others prefer to be excited and entertained by the games themselves… Read more

Bohemia Interactive announced the release date for the Survive campaign episode of Arma 3. Dropping in as free DLC on Thursday October 31, players take on the role of a regular soldier stationed in the Republic of Altis & Stratis.
“Our first campaign episode, ‘Survive’, introduces players to Ben Kerry, a regular soldier who’s part of a NATO peacekeeping mission in the Mediterranean. Following a couple of years of uneasy cease-fire, this US-led deployment is now in the process of a staged drawdown. The vacuum left by withdrawing forces is being rapidly filled by the opposing CSAT faction, creating the conditions for, one might say, a flashpoint” , explains Jay Crowe, Creative Director on Arma 3.
“Of course, it’s not just about our own story, but another opportunity to provide yet more building blocks for the platform – new weapons, animations, 3D objects, scripted modules – each designed to grant content creators even greater freedom to create and share their own content. Looking forward to the forthcoming episodes, we’ll continue to expand Arma 3’s sandbox with additions such as new vehicles.”
Arma 3 features the large open terrains of ‘Altis’ (270 km²) and ‘Stratis’ (20 km²), 12 singleplayer showcases, 3 factions showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, 10 firing drill challenges, more than 20 vehicles and 40 weapons, 5 factions, the scenario editor and modding support. The singleplayer campaign is deployed across 3 free DLC episodes after release.
People can purchase the regular Arma 3 (44.99 EUR/39.99 GBP/59.99 USD) or the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition (49.99 EUR/42.99 GBP/64.99 USD) from Steam and Store.bistudio.com. A boxed version of Arma 3 is also available at many of the major retailers.

Bot Colony, The First Game to Understand and Respond Intelligently in English, available in Open Beta
Bot Colony, the first game to use conversational English as the primary way to interact with characters, entered public Beta Test on November 1, 2013. Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2109642122/bot-colony-now-conversation-is-part-of-the-adventu ) donors will get the first shot at playing the game.
Bot Colony is an episodic sci-fi adventure game in which one plays as a robot cognition specialist investigating the disappearance of prototype robot sensors, and tracking down a spy across an exotic South Pacific island.
While currently video games rely on dialog trees – players clicks canned dialog lines written by someone else – in Bot Colony players use their own words to control the outcome. Language understanding is not limited to commands: players can ask characters questions, state facts or opinions, and clarify what a character said – and the characters will respond intelligently in most cases. Players can also ask robots to carry out commands and robots will comply, or learn new commands that are not yet part of their repertory. The ability to speak freely with the characters increases the player’s immersion into the game and truly makes the player part of the story.
North Side intends Bot Colony to offer a first-hand experience of realistic verbal communication with intelligent machines, much like the interactions depicted in sci-fi movies like The Space Odyssey, I, Robot or Blade Runner. This interaction is designed to be both challenging and entertaining. The ultra-literal way in which robots understand language is sure to drive home the realization of how much we take for granted in our day to day communication with other people. Read more
